Hey ladies! I want to talk to you about hosting today, specifically why I choose SiteGround over Bluehost. I did a lot of research before starting my blog and while everyone recommended Bluehost, I read a few blog posts about SiteGround and how great their customer service is and how fast they are so while Bluehost seemed like the obvious choice I went to go with SiteGround.
Disclaimer: Please do not get upset with what I say in this post. These opinions are my own and what I have read about Bluehost. I am not saying it is a bad company. I’m just telling you why I prefer SiteGround to Bluehost.
Everything Wrong With Bluehost
In 2010 Bluehost was acquired by EIG (Endurance International Group). From what I understand once EIG gets their hands on a hosting company it seems to go downhill. I have read that the customer service is not what it use to be and that it’s like pulling teeth to get help. I’ve also read that sites go down frequently meaning uptime isn’t as good as it use to be. I don’t think Bluehost itself is to blame, I’ve read great things about them and loads of bloggers still recommend them and probably don’t have problems with downtime or customer service or anything else. I’m sure some of you may have heard about EIG so you know they are probably the ones to blame.
Why I Choose SiteGround
Ok, enough about Bluehost, let’s get into why SiteGround is so great. This blog was started back in June 2017. I know, I know I hardly have any posts up or it’s not nearly as set up as it should be, I don’t have any excuses. Anyway, when I started this blog I had to switch from another hosting company (Arvixe) which is also owned by EIG. I wanted to keep my domain name which was free when I started with them. It took hardly any time at all to switch my domain from Arvixe to SiteGround. SiteGround customer service is awesome and so fast at responding. My new blog was set up in no time at all.
Uptime and Speed is Amazing
SiteGround’s uptime is %99.98, that means your site will never go down, and load time is super fast as well.
They Handle Transfers for Free
So if you’re just starting your blog or are looking to transfer to SiteGround I promise you won’t be sorry. Their pricing is super competitive. You get amazing 24/7 support and a free domain or you can transfer your existing domain if you are switching from Bluehost. They will even install WordPress for you if you are not very techie.
